Facebook ads to be removed after ‘racist’ ad, Facebook says

Facebook is considering removing ads from its platform after it was criticized for running an ad featuring an offensive cartoon character and comparing the Holocaust to the Rwandan genocide.

The company has removed the ads since a tweet from President Donald Trump last month referencing the Holocaust and calling for the death penalty for those responsible for the crime, which sparked a wave of anti-Semitic hate crimes.

The post, which has since been deleted, showed a cartoon character with a swastika and the caption “The Holocaust is a crime against humanity, but the death of one person is not the crime,” the White House said in a statement Tuesday.

Trump’s tweet sparked a flood of anti-“Nazi” hate crimes on social media.

The ad, however, didn’t show a person with a white face but instead a black man with long hair and a hood over his face.

Facebook says it will take down any ads that violate its policies, including those that promote hate.

A Facebook spokesperson told The Hill the company will review the posts.

Facebook also told The New York Times it’s reviewing its ad policy after a Facebook employee posted the cartoon image and linked to a story about a white supremacist rally in Berkeley, California.

The White House had no immediate comment on the latest ad from Trump.

It was not immediately clear why the White and black men in the ad were included in the advertisement.

The ad features a black woman in a Nazi uniform.

The caption says “When I saw the ad, I was immediately horrified by the racist messages and imagery it contained.

This kind of bigotry and hate must not be tolerated in the United States.

My thoughts are with the victims of the horrific violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

I condemn the vile actions of white supremacists, neo-Nazis and other hate groups who are seeking to destroy the peaceful, tolerant society that America is founded on,” the company wrote.”

We know that we need to make sure that everyone feels safe when they use our platform, including people of color and women of color.

That’s why we’re taking steps to remove offensive content from Facebook and Twitter,” the statement continued.”

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube all have advertising policies that forbid ads that incite hate.

The companies said they will remove ads when it is clear they are not in violation of those policies.
